Pre-orders for Christmas 2026 are open - pitch opens 23rd November 2026 at The Spires, Barnet

Our story

Growers first, sellers second

Holly & Fir is what happens when 12+ years of growing and wholesaling Christmas trees decides to go direct - picking you the perfect tree and delivering it to your front door with a smile.

Rows of British-grown Christmas trees at the Holly & Fir plantation

From the field to your front room

For over 12 years we've been involved in growing, wholesaling and retailing premium-grade Christmas trees. Our trees are raised at our Suffolk nursery and our Scottish Highland plantation - and we visit the plantations through the year, overseeing every tree's journey from field to front room.

In winter you'll find us on the Bandstand outside Waitrose at The Spires in High Barnet, hand-grading every tree that arrives. The wonky ones stay in the field; only the full, symmetrical, well-furnished trees make the pitch - and only those make the delivery van.

We're a small team, we answer our own phone, and we genuinely love the three weeks a year when half of Barnet walks past our trees on the way to the shops.

Why British-grown matters

Fresher, greener, kinder to the planet

A large share of UK Christmas trees are shipped over from Scandinavia weeks before December. Ours never see a ferry.

  • Cut fresh for the season - less time out of the ground means better needle retention and a fuller scent.
  • A tree planted for every tree sold - our plantations replant continuously, so the crop keeps absorbing carbon.
  • Lower miles - British-grown, locally delivered beats imported stock by hundreds of road and sea miles.
  • Living trees too - our pot-grown Nordmanns are container-grown with intact roots, so one tree can do many Christmases.
  • Recycled in January - we collect and chip trees across our delivery area, keeping them out of landfill.
